SHORT DESCRIPTION
Carapace smooth, glabrous. Rostrum well developed, almost reaching tip of antennal scale, laterally compressed, upcurved, bearing dorsally 8-9 teeth, proximal tooth posterior to orbit, second tooth over orbit; lower margin bearing 4-5 teeth. Supra-orbital spines absent, antennal and hepatic spines present. Abdominal segments smooth, pleura of fifth segment produced, posteriorly acute. Telson bearing two pairs of small dorsal spines, posterior margin with three pairs of spines. Finger-like process on fourth thoracic sternite. Mandible lacking palp. First walking leg reaching tip of antennal scale, lacking spines; second walking legs subequal, slender, long, extending beyond antennal scale, lacking spines, interior margins of both fingers bearing shallow oval pit ringed by denticles proximally, distally. Walking legs 3-5 with simple dactyl.

BIOLOGY / ECOLOGY
Halophila. Ovigerous females August-October.
