INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS   version Française ici

Online submission of Congress papers closed on 15 March 2019. You may submit (and present) only one paper and co-author up to three others. Note also that each paper can have a maximum number of five contributors (no changes in authorship will be possible once the paper is submitted). A paper will be considered only if it directly relates to one of the Congress themes and if it is accompanied by online payment (by credit card only, no bank transfer) of a registration fee.

Each author will submit a one-page, preferably illustrated, paper via our online system. You will be able to adjust, rewrite, preview your draft on that interface until its final submission (no later than 15 March). As you will note from our examples, our published congress papers are not just an abstract but a 'mini-paper' including references, abstract, keywords and main text. The final processing in two columns will be made automatically by our system.

Your contribution to the Congress will be expressed in three ways :
a. your paper (see above) to be published in the Congress volume,
b. your 'flash' communication - 4 PPT slides, 4 minutes maximum - to be presented in one of the Committee sessions,
c. your poster, to be presented on the following morning (A0, portrait format mandatory).

(1) Young scientists will withdraw their badge at a special Congress registration desk, upon presentation of their national ID or passport (no other document).

(2) Emerging countries :
Among CIESM Member States, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Syria and Tunisia fall under this category.

(3) Privileges of Full Member States :
CIESM activities and products (longterm programs, congresses, workshops, Monographs, Atlases, etc…) are entirely financed by the yearly contributions of our Member States. The fees indicated above apply to scientists based in CIESM Member States that will have acquitted their 2018 statutory contribution. The list of these countries will be updated in real time on this page. If your country does regularise its 2018 membership before April 2019, the 120€ extra charge will be refunded to your credit card.

(4) In other words, your institutional address - the one that will appear on your Congress badge - shall determine your 'geography', and not your nationality.

NB : CIESM cannot and does not provide stipends covering expenses related to Congress participation.
